Who We Are

Multiple people placing their hands on top of each other in a show of unity and teamwork.

Agenda Counseling & Wellness (ACW) is a culturally grounded mental health practice built with intention. We specialize in serving individuals from historically underserved and marginalized communities, including LGBTQIA+ clients, Black and Brown professionals, and those navigating identity, trauma, burnout, and systemic stress. While our focus is rooted in equity and liberation, we welcome all clients who align with our values and commitment to meaningful healing.

ACW was founded on a simple but powerful belief: healing should not require you to shrink, code-switch, or over-explain your existence. Our work centers identity-affirming, trauma-informed care that honors the complexity of your lived experience. We integrate evidence-based approaches such as CBT, EMDR, attachment-focused work, and culturally responsive practices to help clients move from survival to alignment.

Whether you are redefining relationships, processing trauma, rebuilding after burnout, or stepping into a new chapter of life, ACW provides a collaborative and grounded therapeutic space. We believe therapy is not about fixing you — it is about helping you reclaim your power, clarify your values, and define your own agenda.

First on the Agenda is Healing.

Shaq Roberts, LCSW, LISW-CP, is the Owner and Clinical Director of Agenda Counseling & Wellness. As a queer Black male clinician, Shaq understands firsthand the layered realities of navigating identity, ambition, vulnerability, and systemic pressure. His work is rooted in liberation, cultural humility, and empowering clients to live boldly — even in spaces that were not designed with them in mind.

Shaq specializes in trauma, anxiety, high-functioning burnout, identity exploration, and relationship dynamics, including queer and polyamorous relationships. His approach blends clinical precision with warmth, directness, and authenticity. Clients often describe him as grounding, insightful, and affirming — someone who challenges them while making them feel deeply seen.

With experience across outpatient therapy, higher levels of care, and telehealth practice across multiple states, Shaq brings both clinical depth and real-world understanding to his work. He is passionate about expanding access to culturally responsive care and building a practice model that prioritizes integrity, excellence, and community impact.

For Shaq, therapy is not about conforming to society’s expectations — it’s about helping you define your own.
